acrex1Bangalore, 14th February, 2018: ISHRAE, (the Indian Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Engineers), today announced the 19th edition of ACREX India 2018, South Asia’s largest exhibition on Air Conditioning, Ventilation, Refrigerating and Building services, produced by NürnbergMesse India Pvt. Ltd. and scheduled to take place at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) in Bengaluru from 22nd – 24th  Feb 2018.

Key discussions will take place around the theme for ACREX India 2018 “Rising India: Enterprising & Cool”. With 17% of the global population, India is emerging as a leading economy worldwide with growth witnessed in the infrastructure sector from private mega infrastructure projects, metro system, airports, high speed train and through construction of high-rise buildings, shopping complexes, malls, hypermarkets now penetrating in Tier 2 Cities. Domestic manufacturing will play a pivotal role in promoting, educating and supplying equipment while guiding best practices & will be promoted comprehensively during ACREX India 2018. With the HVAC & R industry benefiting from this growth, thereby making India a consumer market to be reckoned with and a destination that attracts many international companies to come and sell their products.

A recent report released by TechSci Research pegged the HVAC market in India to be currently over USD4 Billion and is anticipated to witness healthy growth with a CAGR of around 9% during the next five years reaching over USD7.7 Billion by 2022. This is buoyed by rise in per capita income, growing purchasing power and rapid industrialization further fueling the demand for branded HVAC systems in India. As per the report growing popularity of inverter-based systems and natural refrigerant is expected to positively influence India HVAC market during the next five years. Furthermore, increasing the need for power saving rating and implementation of strict policies and regulations concerning efficient utilization of energy coupled with better consumer awareness are expected to fuel this demand.

The Government of India has been one of the driving forces in developing the cold chain industry and increasing warehousing capacity and supports private participation through various subsidy schemes and grants. With 100% FDI participation, investment in cold chain in India was also opened under the automatic route. The domestic cold chain offers great potential to drive and benefit agricultural, horticultural & dairy production. Warehousing & cold storage development offers great scope of development through participation of related industries like dairy, horticulture, food & vegetables.

Speaking on the occasion, Chairman, ISHRAE Mr. D. Nirmal Ram stated, “Discussion on the successful implementation of the smart city initiative started by the Govt. of India would rely heavily on a robust public –private partnership. The subsequent arising demand potential from the construction, IT and related sectors will have to be addressed through sustained energy conservation. Highlighting the potential of cost saving through energy efficiency & green practices will help usher a boom period for the HVAC &R market. ISHRAE has always promoted the need for quality benchmarking to sustain our domestic energy requirement. Various discussions on integration of technology & practices during ACREX India 2018 will help define a roadmap for quality practices for the HVAC &R and related industries. The increased interest & participation from the HVAC &R and related industry towards ACREX India 2017 has been very motivating for ISHRAE & we look to sustain the interest in the coming editions of ACREX India.”

Held over three days ACREX India 2018 will witness a host of both national and international visitors from more than 30 countries and is known to be the largest platform for networking for the construction industry.

One of the highlights for the annual exhibition this year will be ISHRAE’s collaboration with United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP) to discuss the technological developments in zero-ODS and low-GWP RAC technologies as well as the regulatory and policy measures needed to scale up their adoption, thereby maximizing ozone, climate and energy efficiency benefits.

ISHRAE promotes innovation, guidelines for indoor air quality & energy efficiency amongst other initiatives. The need for adequate training & skill development has been recognized by ISHRAE & the HVAC & R industry. ACREX India 2018 will also present a series of educative sessions which will be held during the three day event at the venue. These knowledge sessions will provide an opportunity to gain the much needed market insights from professionals in the industry and act as a platform to interact and share thoughts between the industry experts and attendees. The Workshops and Seminar will be conducted by Eminent and Internationally acclaimed experts from the industry and provided a rare opportunity to the participants to learn, share expertise and hone their skills on the latest trends and topics related to HVAC&R industry.
